WOYWW

Well another week that has flown by, right .........So what's on my desk today...... YEP you are seeing correctly, that is a cars .....oh my... forgotten what it's proper name is!! The thing that goes over a cars wheels, well any way I have walked past this sad and lonely.....wheel cover thingy 3 or 4 times in the past week and it was begging me to take it home!! So I picked it up and have been giving it a make over, firstly it got a good scrub, it was flithy, then so far I have painted it silver, painted on acrylic crackle glaze and gone over the top with a cream textured paint......Now here's the dilema, I don't know at the moment, what to do,sitting here ,looking for inspiration to slap me round the face!!!!!
Any ideas would be faboulous, I would like to turn it into a clock at some point but need a theme!!!!

The second pic is the cup my sister got me for my 40th....love it and I swear it is made of rubber as I have made it bounce, once or twice ...... altho it now lies as I am 42 lol

If you would like to show off, what's on your desk on a wednesday then pop over to see the lovely Julia at WOYWW  and see what's what and how other like minded folk, keep their desk's amd what they are up too.

Thanks for dropping by
Happy WOYWW

  1. Think it is a hub cap? Am I right?
It says Steampunk to me and it is so big right now I don't think you could go wrong with it. But then if you are not into that what about a circular garden?

  2. Yes a wheel hub thingy, I saw a lot of these once, we were stuck in a lane as a lorry had lost it's load or got stuck on a narrow bend...no! it was a bridge, (some silly idiot hadn't given way to the lorry and just kept going and no one would back up...anyway, it was somewhere in Cornwall, and right where we were stopped, was a little house with loads of these all over it, brightly decorated to look like moons and suns and flowers. have fun with it! 9. It will be really really interesting to see the finished project. Did you use a special type of paint to cover the metal or was it a plastic one?
happy woyww, thanks for sharing :)

  12. I think the steampunk thing is the way to go. How about a car cut out like the new Tim holtz die with the spoke wheels etc. Pretty. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Thanks for sharing.

  13. wow I never would have thought to alter a hubcap. my first thought was a clock but there are 13 holes and spaces between holes so that idea may not work. Does anything you use frequently fit in those holes because before I read the text I thought it was an organizer of some sort.

Love the mug I am always saying I'm 27 with x years of experience. No one would by 18 anymore.

  14. Hi Jinny, All those watches cost me about £5 from an auction and two of them were working!!! Hubby (to be) has a music company "Effigy Music" he films bands and makes DVD's for them!!!! (Mostly 70/80's bands, like Wishbone Ash, Asia, Focus, Uriah Heep, he's just done one for Steve Hackett and is currently working with Carl Palmer)....awww bless...no wonder he doesn't have time to tidy his desk!!! Enjoy your day xx

  15. Very interesting project Jinny, how about a paper collage on a given theme? I like the clock idea, and although I'm just past 40 I could do with one of those mugs too!
